Dear Diary,
I'm shocked! I was never that shocked...
But let's begin at the start. Amber called me yesterday during our vacations with pretty bad news. DEC Felicious (also called Felix) became sick. They weren't sure what he has, but they already know it must be pretty bad. He is laying on the floor of his box all day long. Tomorrow a special vet will check him, we hope for the best. But you never know.
Unfortunately Andy and I were still in China and we had to get on the next plane to Avila Valley. It was a horbbile flight and I couldn't sleep an hour during the 16 hours flight. Andrew was very worried, too. Actually he's still. So we went home, unpacked our stuff and looked after the horses. Felix looked tired and pretty sick. Mirabelle always licked his face and back to get his body cooled down. But his fever isn't the only problem, his legs are shaking and his nostrils are swollen and icecold. He need to see the doctor as soon as possible.
After checking on him, I decided to ride to the mountains with Chyara. I washed and groomed her and after I saddled up, I let her gallop up the hills and mountains. I just love the view you have from there. It's so fascinating, the little houses, the river and the sea, but most of all the wild horses are. And today I saw a really beautiful horse, I took a photo. But when I looked closely I could saw its ribs. It was so thin, it could hardly stand on his own legs. I never saw something that terrible...
I called Andrew and the others immediately so they would come and catch the horse with me. Because I made the decision to bring the horse to your stud and take care of it as long as it's necessary to bring it back to normal weight. They came 15 minutes later and we tried really long to catch it. It was already evening when we actually had the horse at our stud.
We checked the horse and it turned out, it's a mare. And not just a mare. She was a foal of a very succesful warmblood jumper. I think the owner had much hope in her future. After I know she came from a famous stud, I googled many stables, studs and training centers and the horse itself, but I couldn't find a answer. Chester helped me, but he knew as much as I did. After a while discussing with the staff Serena suggested to name her "Erinqua". It's a spanish name and is perfect for her. But after all we are not sure, if she'll survive the night. She's in a horrible shape and our sorrows are entitled. She's very calm and not anxious anymore.
Meanwhile it's 2am and the others went to bed an half hour ago. I didn't. I packed some stuff and will look after her during the night. I think I won't be able to sleep tonight anyway.
Oh god, please let her be alright.
I'll go now and write more tomorrow morning.
Loves, Alayana (back in Avila Valley)
